Megan has been performing professionally on the harp for over thirty years. Megan's playing is supported by years of dedicated study; she holds a Bachelor of Music degree with Honours from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Music Performance degree from the Victorian College of the Arts, and a Master of Arts in Music, Culture and Politics from Cardiff University, Wales. She has also completed a Summer Academy course in Salzburg, Austria.
Megan has performed with a diverse range of musical ensembles, from the Melbourne Symphony and the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra, through to touring with Jose Carreras and the Bolshoi Ballet, as well as acts as diverse as Kanye West, Nick Cave and The Wiggles. Her television appearances include 'Good Morning Australia', 'It Takes Two' 'Dancing with the Stars and 'Spicks and Specks'. Megan has performed with Chamber Music Australia for the Melbourne International Festival of the Arts and is a founding member of chamber music group 'voxArpa' and ‘Miscellany’.
Megan has recorded on both the Move and Naxos labels. Her solo CD ‘Automne’ was CD of the week on ABC Classic Drive.
Her public speaking skills have made her a sought-after guest speaker at events in Australia and the United Kingdom. She was nominated 'Best Speaker' at the Rotary District 9810 conference in Adelaide. Megan has also presented papers at both the Australian Harp Festival, the World Harp Congress and the National Conference of the Musicological Society of Australia.
As a teacher, Megan is in demand for both in-person and online lessons, and is currently on staff at Fintona Girls' School and Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School. Megan has also taught at Adelaide University, Melbourne Polytechnic, Ivanhoe Grammar School, Genazzano FCJ College and Scotch College. She has examined at tertiary level for Monash University and Melbourne Polytechnic and served as a teacher mentor for the University of Melbourne. Megan also tutors the harp students of the Melbourne Youth Orchestra programmes and Summer School.
Megan is a current PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, researching nineteenth-century Australian harp music.
